AUTO CRASH IN FAGGE

An auto crash involving a toyota car and a lifan motorcycle along bila avenue in fagge area fagge local govt., killed one person and many injured. 

 

A witness , who gave his name musbahu told me that the toyota car was coming from  the haruna kassim's street in fagge to the main road and a bike on their wedding celebration collided with a car coming from opposite direction. Musbahu said that a bike driver died on the spot  while many people around the area injured.

 

 When contacted the people around the area confirmed the incident, saying the car driver was at fault

BAYERO UNIVERSITY, EXPERIENCES MASSIVE FAILURE AND POSTPONEMENT OF EXAM.

The release of the first semester result was a great surprise to some of the student of Bayero University. after a long awaited great expectations from the students, which came as a great shock and dissapointment. 

This brought about quietness amongst the student. the library which use to be empty started receiving troops of dissapointed students. students of mass communication expresed their griviances by putting black attires.

As if that was not enough, three days after, the school authority released her second semester examination time table which really cause the students more stress and heart beat. the school environment became crowded with activities. suddenly, a notice came up that the examination has been extented by the school authorities for two weeks.

These has become great worry for the student of the university because their hope of finishing their examination as the time table earlier shown has been chartered by the ugly circumstances of nature caused by man.

BAYERO UNIVERSITY EXPERIENCES MASSIVE EXAMINATION FAILUREFAILURE

Recently, results of the first semester of the 2011/12 session in Bayero University were released. the result were released as scheduled from the 9th to 16th of November, though after a change of schedule due to the sallah festival break at the beginning of the month.

The result of students came out disappointing, especially that of the art students who are dominantly occupying the new site area of the university, also without exception the science student, many students failed woefully, like those in the fais, engineering and education faculties and lesser in the faculty of sms.

Some department delayed the release of result as it was rumored that the school senate had to once again reseat to query, decide, and conclude over the performance of the students. departments like mass communication, special education, engineering, geography and political science were examples.

After the released of the result, the outcome was less encouraging and as would follow up, there were so many cases of students with carry over, though some of these cases were the problem of absence which could later be rectified if proven that the student actually sat for the exam.

Observing the overall performance, that of the student in their first year could be rated averagely while that of the second level was below average. These short comings could attributed to lack of preparation. some student who found the result unbelievable sought to protest, for example in the department of mass comm were the female student wore on a certain day black attires in response to the massive failure.

AN ACCIDENT ALONG BUK ROAD CLAIMED SIX LIVES

 A motor accident involving a Toyota hiece and a Honda jeep had occurred this along B.U.K road. An eye witness told our corespondent that about 7:30am an over speeding Honda jeep with registration number AA 4004 KMC conveying children to school had a head on collusion with a passenger commuter bus.

Three of the passengers died instantly while Six others sustained injuries including Two school children. 

Commenting on the fatal accident while narrating in  the scene of the accident, the divisional police officer II, in-charge of the traffic ASP Rulwan Ahmad Tambai warn motorist on early morning over speeding.

Mean while, the remaining bodies of the deceased had been deposited at the mutuary of Murtala Muhammed General Hospital an investigations into the cause of the accident is ongoing

FEDERAL ROAD, REHABILITATION, HAMPER MOVEMENT ON HADEJIA ROAD, KANO STATE

Hadejia road is unarguably one of the busiest road in Kano. the reasons are surplus. first, the road lead to the outskirt of Kano city thereby making travelers and motorist to occupy the road every now and then. secondly, due to the fact that Kano is a center of commerce makes Hadejia road vehemently a commercialized area of Kano state with so many industries, banks schools shops, located around it. but despite the importance of the road, motorist now avoid it like a plague. the road is bad with many failed portion and there is construction going on.
Checks revealed that motorist and commuters have been going through hell. the road is dotted with many few bad spot, traffic congestion and portholes staring motorist in the face. Hadejia road bus top is one of the nightmares of the with buses, taxis, and motorist going in and out of the garage which now makes traffic jam a regular feature of the road. despite the use of stones to fill the bad area of the road, movement is still hampered. to make matters worse the road is always flooded during the rainy season. as a result of combination of these, vehicle get stocked up, others fall flat, when they loose balance while wading through the flood and potholes.
when the state government was awarded contract for the rehabilitation of the road, motorist heaved a sigh of relief, however work on the road has added to the night mare. using the road therefore is like the camel passing through the eye of the needle, figuratively, and its worse when the rain falls.
investigation revealed that motorist from Murtala Mohammad area of the metropolis in an attempt to avoid the torture of using the road now go through the street of Bompai, GRA. while some choose to move on untarred road. so many motorist are not happy with the deplorable nature of the road describing them as an eye sore that needs urgent attention. they also appeal to the contractors to fasten the pace of work in order to save motorist from the pain they are going through. the contract which has been on for a year now has made contractors to block the express way allowing motorist to use just one lane of the road thereby causing a heavy hold up on the road at night. especially during the evening time when workers are returning from work.

The state government and contractors are presently appealing to road users to exercise patience as they working hard to complete the project. from all indication, they work twenty four hours to see that the work is completed on time. there has never been a time they close the road totally. so contractors are appealing to motorist and other road users who are victims of traffic jam on the road to bear with the current situation and that the story will soon change for the better.

BUK: Examination Shifted to December 12

The news that the examination will be shifted to December 12, came like a joke to most students of Bayero University Kano (BUK). This is because the examinations have already started with General Study Papers (GSP).

        It was barely two weeks now when the timetable was out. The atmosphere was really tense. The school was full of activities, as students hurriedly update their notes, some making photocopies of: handouts, notebooks and other materials they need to study for the examination. So many students became fast friends with the library-as early as 9am it is already filled up.

 As a result of the announcement (of the two weeks shift)        students have different opinions about it. Some students are saying that, the two weeks break is connected with the refusal of the Federal Government to meet up with the criteria of the Academics Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

        Others are saying that the school had decided to move the exams forward so that lecturers who were unable to meet up with their syllable will do so and also for students to be able to prepare well for the exams.

        Some other students comment that any action the school authority takes is for the benefit of the students, after all two weeks break is an opportunity to read more.

They also added that, if really the school is going for two weeks strike, it is better, because, if the school will comply with ASUU, then, they have to pay huge amount of money as fine which will lead to increment of tuition fee because the school management cannot pay the money alone.

According to a 200 level student of library science, Joy Jeremiah said, “The new development is really discouraging to us, nobody knows whether the school will resume on the stated date or exceed to next year.”

She also said, “Some universities are done with their second semester’s exams, that if school did not resume at the stated date, the universities will be ahead of us.”

RAMPANT THEFT AT DANTATA BOYS HOSTEL.

At about 6:50 pm yesterday , while students were out for the
evening prayer(Maghreb), a Nokia 2690, three T-shirts and two trousers
belonging to one Haroun Sunusi and Muhammad Yahya were reported
missing.

       According to one of the victims, Haruna Sunusi who own the
clothes  said he did his laundry and spread them to dry in front of
his room. He added that his clothes were still on the line when he
left for prayers. On returning to the hostel he noticed that his
clothes were no longer where he left them. No sooner, he realised his
clothes had been stolen, Sunusi lamented that this was the second time
his clothes were being stolen and he called upon the school authority
to curb the malpractice.

      Shortly after the case was reported Muhammad Yahya noticed
someone has pinched his phone. He told the people who flocked around
him that the phone was his only means of reaching his parents and some
important people for financial support. He said he will find it very
difficult for him to reach out to anybody for financial support.

      As I gathered some students suspected the errand boys (Debo Ruwa) to be the culprits.
Abdulkareem Jaafar a level three student asserted that no one could
involve in such a dubious act except some irresponsible students. He
said that the only way to apprehend this studnts is to gain the
support of school management.

Finally he urged students to engage in self effort by keeping watch
over their properties and apprehend any suspicious movement.
