There was a fire outbreak in room S47,Saadu Zungur hostel block A. At about 11:30AM the serene atmosphere in the hostel was interrupted by sudden shouts of "fire! fire!!". Pandemonium broke out as the boys in the hostel rushed to the room with buckets of water to put out the fire.It took about twenty minutes and buckets of water to extinguish the fire.

The central circuit board in the block was switched off to reduce the risk of electrocution. After the room had cooled down, the boys trooped into the room to salvage belongings from the accident.Few minutes later, the hostel administrator and some security officers came around to inspect the room. They couldn't figure out what caused the fire outbreak but they suspected that an electronic gadget might have been left unplugged.
The room mates, who returned shortly after the arrival of the hall administrator, were questioned about the electrical appliances they possessed.None of them claimed to have any appliances prohibited by the school authority.

According to one of the room mates, "The only thing we plug here  is an extension board and nothing else". ISSUE OF TRAFFIC JAM AT KABUGA

Written  by: RUQAYYA BELLO SALIM  SMS/10/MAC/00959

The issue of incessant traffic jam in kabuga metropolis has become an issue bothering the motorists. The situation has reached an extent whereby the road users find it very difficult moving from one point to another. Apart from the congestion aspect that kabuga is well known for, road users complain unnecessary traffic jam resulting from the motor park and school [NASSARA ACADEMY] that were recently constructed on the pavement of the road which initially were not characterized by traffic hold ups.

What remains peculiar with the road is the delay road users experience when passing through it.Infact when talking about the majority of the road users passing through kabuga junction, the students face the greater disappointment from the traffic jam.
Muhammad sani, a level four student of department of mass communication narrated that ”kabuga junction causes a lot of disappointment to students going from old site to new site and vice versa, in fact not only university students are being affected but also secondary, primary, and nursery students”. He added that “the moment it is 8:00am consider yourself dead if you are unable to pass the junction”

During the tenure of Mal.Ibrahim Shekarau, so many complaints were made by the citizens especially those who use the road frequently pleading to the government to dualize the road, but the dualization was not possible because the road is under the care of the federal government not the state government.

The road does not only cause traffic jam which inconveniences the road users but also causes accident which leads to loss of lives and properties. Furthermore this problem highly contributes negatively to public health due to emission of harmful gases [carbon monoxide] to the atmosphere.
Lives and properties have been lost; students have been reporting late to their classes, the atmosphere has been polluted all because of the traffic jam. The road being a busy road that leads to almost 8 districts is not supposed to be neglected by the government. The government should construct flyover, dualize the road or construct more roads that will lead to Gwarzo road.
