Mass Communication to Recruit Staff

The mass communication department Bayero University Kano, is to recruit competent staff to meet the increasing challenges of the ever changing media industry.

Head of the department, Dr Balarabe Maikaba dropped this hint while chatting with correspondents shortly after the young journalists competition which took place at the university’s CIT theatre new campus.

This effort according to Dr Maikaba, is to further address the shortage of man power for the department to maintain its status as one of the bests departments of mass communication in Nigerian universities.

We are going to recruit good hands some of whom will be the students. Therefore anybody who has academic masters we can recruit him as an assistant lecturer”.

He is of the opinion that, if this is done it will go a long way in enhancing the performance of students particularly in the practical aspect of the journalism profession.
