READING MOOD ACTIVATED FOR BUKITES

Written By: BAMIDELE ELIZABETH BOLANLE (SMS/10/MAC/00863)

It is obvious that every student of Bayero University Kano are earnestly reading for their forth coming second semester examination as almost every lecture hall within the campus and library were fully occupied with students.

As early as 7:00 o’clock on 22nd November, 2011 evening, I went to class to read but I found it so difficult to find a seat. This was so, due to the mass failure that the students encounter in their first semester result, especially from the mass communication department.
It was a very bitter experience for the student of the department of mass communication of Bayero University Kano, especially level one students. On Wednesday 16th November, 2011 as their result is pasted in the department with many students carrying over a course from the English department. The level three student were not left out in this scenario as of them drag from 4 points to 2 points with carry overs, what a painful act! With this students from this department decided to mourn this result by putting on black outfits to protest to the lecturers that the rate of which they marked them down is so painful not to the fact that they don’t write well.
As a result of this mass failure, many students within mass communication departments and other department are now serious minded to read harder for the forth coming second semester examination. Though, time limit for the lecturers were short even most lecturers are yet to cover their syllabus. It energies the student to read and meet their target for examinations.
