MASS COMMUNICATION STUDENTS ASSOCIATION [MACOSA] BAYERO UNIVERSITY KANO CHAPTER TO LUNCHS ITS ANNUAL MAGAZINE

MACOSA OF BUK chapter lunches its annual magazine on 19th of November, 2011. The day is also recoganized as MACOSAannual lectureday organised by the student of mass communication department Bayero University Kano. Which serves as the social interaction between scholars of the field of mass communication and the student who are to be the future journalists.

Meanwhile, the lunch magazine uncovers and makes visible the talent of mass communication student of BUK to the public as the potencial journalist.The magazine comprisesthe activities taking place within and outside the university arena.This shows that the mass communication student of Bayero Univerdity Kano were not left behid in the field of journalism.

However, the ivited guests to the occasion include Dr. Usman Mohannad a lecturer at political science department university of Abuja, Dr.Bala Mohammad former HOD mass communication department and also former DG societal reorientation [Adaidaita sahu] kano state,Hamisu Lamido Iyantama a director Kannywood industry, chief luncher of the magazine Dr. Faruk Umar Jibril among others.

In his paper presentation Dr. Bala Mohammad titled knock once the opputunity is here,urges the student of mass communication to cultivate the reading habit and uterlise the knowledge gain in the university.Becouse ‘the society needs media to survive ‘ he added. While delivering his lecture he cited an example with our neibouring and counterpart university Niami at Niger repubic. Where he said they have mass communication training instutition known as iftik for training and equiping student of mass communication.
However, Dr. Bala’s lecture gingered the honourable commissioner of information kano state to say that kano state government will continue to render support and assistance to the department of mass communication Bayero University Kano.

Meanwile, the MACOSA lunches magazine have captured the mind of well prominent persons in the society. And as a result it generate fund to the association. Where the chief luncher of the magazine bought five copies at the rate of N50,000, a representative of AFCON a person of Aisha Mohd onbehalf of the organisation also bought five copies at the rate of N25,000, Malam Mohammad onbehalf of MD Freedom Radio bought a copy at the rateN10,000,Hamisu Lamido Iyantama  bought five copies at the rate of N5000 which brought to the total of N90,000.
