BUK to Build New Mass Communication Block

Authorities of the Bayero University Kano are planning to build a new structure for the thirty year old mass communication Department.

Consequently, the department will move to from its existing site in the main building of its new site where it has been occupying since 1978, to a temporary location before the of the project.

The Head of the department, Doctor  Balarabe Maikaba stated this shortly after a competition for young journalists organised by the department in collaboration with freedom radio kano and German embassy in Nigeria.

Doctor Maikaba pointed out that the department might soon be asked to to the buildings occupied by either business or economics department as part of the project.

“Now we are very much sure if we move to aa new place, definitely they will have to get new equipment for us”.

He said the new department is being built, in response to the recent hand over of the old structure the department is currently occupying to the faculty of technology.

Bayero University’s mass communication department is adjudged one of the bests in the country in terms of facilities and production of quality graduates.
