Reported by: MOHAMMED NURUDEEN OJO SMS/10/MAC/00931

The students of Bayero University, kano (BUK) on Thursday expressed dissatisfaction over their first semester results released by the school management. The result which was released on Wednesday afternoon was described as the worst ever in the history of BUK.

The aggrieved students who all appeared in black, shocked the university community at the new site campus with their outfits. They lamented that the school has treated them unfairly with the poor result despite their serious efforts.

According to the students who expressed their views said that, that were not the results they had toiled for because them at bayero university are known for hardworking which the university have been proud of over the years.
“We don’t have lazy bones among us. The school only wanted to jeopardize our efforts by toying with our exams results on the grounds that they want to reduce the number of students graduating with first class and second class upper grades”. Said a level 300 student of the mass communication department.

Giving a clearer picture of results, a member of the group said, in level 300 mass comm. Department where they have many students with four and three point grades in the previous results were suddenly shocked as only one student got four points and few were left at three and many got two points with carryovers respectively.

However, others who gave their comments said that they have also resolved to organize a joint prayer section among themselves to seek ALLAH’s divine intervention. And that they have received in with good faith to put in more efforts, as prayers and efforts are the only panacea to their problems.

Further more investigations revealed that some lecturers commended the efforts of the students. That it is the first in history of the institution where students will show their grievances in such a peaceful but mournful manner. And were further urged to always fight for their rights in a civilized and diplomatic manner like every responsible person should do.
However efforts to reach the dean students affairs proved abortive as he was not available at press time
